Spell-a-Bration Photos

Spell-a-bration was quite the experience for us last Friday. We were eliminated a bit earlier than we wished, but still extend congratulations to the top teams. Here are some shots from the event. There's a team shot, shots of our cheerleading volunteers, and a shot of our lady mascot--complete with mustache!

New, New, New!

Lots of new stuff for you on this fantastic looking Thursday. Let's break it down:

  1. Stacy, Debbie, and I will be doing an informal interview at WUHU tomorrow morning. We'll keep you posted on the details as we receive them.

  2. We have a facebook page now! Check us out and become a fan: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/pages/South-Central-Kentucky-Kids-on-the-Block-Inc/44278941743

  3. Seven of our kids have their own blogs. You can navigate to these individual blogs by clicking on the links provided on the side of the main blog under Our Kids' Blogs. Each kid offers something different so be sure to take a look at all of them!

That is all for now. Have a great weekend everyone!

Congrats, Hillary!

Okay, as the author of this post I do feel a bit ridiculous congratulating myself. However, I am pumped that I have received my first grant approval since I started at KOB in November. I wrote to the Barren River Community Collaborations for Children for a grant that would allow us to update the information we provide in the teacher packets that accompany the Substance Abuse education program. These packets provide teachers with more information and activities that can be shared with a class.

On another note, I’ve been working on the individual puppet blogs for the past few days. They’re shaping up quite nicely so far. I’ll leave you with one of the kid’s blogs. This is one that I believe both parents and children can enjoy. Check him out here: http://www.stephenkykob.blogspot.com/.

Have a fantastic day! Enjoy this nice weather while it’s around!

Beware the Bandits

Spell-a-Bration is rapidly approaching! Around the office we're preparing for the big night. It looks like we have a pretty good hold on our costume, and let me tell you--it will be a real treat. Off and on we've been looking at our spelling lists, but next week we're setting aside time to band together and study as a team. It's only two weeks out. Time to cram!

It should also be noted that we are still looking for cheerleaders to team up and pump us up at the big event. Email us for details!
