KOB Accepts Community Foundation Grant

Today, Debbie and I visited the BG Area Chamber of Commerce to accept a grant from the Vitale Donor Advised Fund as a part of the Bowling Green-Warren County Community Foundation. The Community Foundation presented nearly $30,000 to area organizations. The check we received today will continue to support our organization so that we can continue to serve the children of Kentucky with our performances.
On a side note, be looking out for Debbie on WBKO and in BG Daily News!

Edit 4/29:
As promised, Debbie did appear in the Daily News and on WBKO. You can even catch me during the short clip on BKO! Check us out:

Puppets in The Daily Independent

Last weekend, the puppeteers travelled all the way to Ashland, Kentucky (a 4.5 hour drive from our office in Bowling Green) for an event on Saturday hosted by the local Safe Harbor. Our puppeteers provided activities--paper bag puppets, anyone?--along with a performance of the Child Abuse show. Tim Preston of The Daily Independent paper in Ashland wrote an article about the event. Check it out here: http://www.dailyindependent.com/archivesearch/local_story_109000426.html

Garden Tour Update

Good morning, all! For all of those interested in Garden Tour and Tea, we have some great news for you this morning. We have confirmed that the Bowling Green/Western Symphony Orchestra will be donating 4 season tickets for us to give away at this year’s event.

Also, as a part of this year’s fundraiser, KOB is teaming up with the Yankee Candle Company to offer our supporters the chance to support both organizations. Representatives from KOB will be selling Yankee Candle products from their Spring 2009 scratch-and-sniff catalogue. The catalogue features more than just candles—there’s decorative items for the home and garden as well as seeds and planters, too. How exciting! The sale starts on May 1 and runs through the 28th of the same month. Even better, the Yankee Candle Company offers 40% of the sales for our organization. This is definitely a great, mutually beneficial partnership.

I must say that Garden Tour keeps getting better and more exciting each day that it approaches.

Festival of Sand Poster Coming Soon

Fundraising season is about to kick into gear! We've been working on wrapping up Adopt-A-Puppet and putting together Garden Tour and Tea for June. We have done some brainstorming and recently came up with this year's theme for Festival of Sand. Since the event occurs on September 11, we decided to take the patriotic route. This year's theme will be: Show Your Colors. Interested schools, churches, and other organizations are welcome to compete for prizes in this event. This even has a ton to offer, so check out this year's poster! It will be hanging around your schools and churches very soon! Click on the poster for more information.
